Palos Verdes

Palos Verdes Estates

The City of Palos Verdes Estates is a 4.75 square mile city of approximately 13,500 residents. Known for being a planned community with tranquil neighborhoods, it is the oldest of four cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

The city was master-planned by the noted American landscape architect and planner Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.  It is located along the Southern California coastline of the Pacific Ocean.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Located approximately 30 miles south of Los Angeles’ westside is the affluent oceanside suburb of Rancho Palos Verdes. The city is commonly abbreviated as RPV, and it literally translates from Spanish to “Ranch of Green Sticks,” which is probably a nod to the city’s green veranda-like hills.

It is a  small coastal city a bit further away from the usual LA.
